How can I tell if Sawyer Library has a particular article?

The library catalog does not index the title/author of journal articles.  You will need to know the title, date, and volume/issue number of the journal that contains the article you need. Then search the library catalog for that journal.

You may also use online databases to search for specific articles. Databases are listed by subject area here, and access is provided on Sawyer Library web site.

My professor told me the journal I need is in an online database. How do I access it?

  1. Visit Sawyer Library’s web site.
  2. Select "A-Z List of Databases"
  3. Select the appropriate database.
  4. Databases allow different kinds of searches.  In most cases, you can access the article you need by using keywords and setting various specifications (for some databases, you may specify journal title).
