16 workstations on the Main (2nd) Floor in the Reference Area
These 16 computers are used primarily to access databases licensed to the Sawyer Library. These machines are not to be used for student productivity (office suites), e-mail, chat groups and message boards.

back to top^Sawyer Library’s Wireless LAN throughout the Library
The Library has 50 laptop computers for use within the Sawyer Library.
Students may borrow the laptops and access the Internet through the Library’s wireless network, or use them anywhere in the Library for word processing, spreadsheets, etc. You may print from the laptops to one of the 6 networked printers located on Floor 2.
The Sawyer Library also has several wireless network cards that students may borrow to attach to the Library’s wireless network using your own laptop computer. Your laptop computer must be configured to work with the wireless network. Please ask for configuration assistance at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.

This computer is used to access CD-ROM databases licensed to the Sawyer Library. The workstation is connected to a laser printer. The computer is not connected to the Internet.

The Library has a GoVideo VR4940 unit which can be used to transfer content from VHS tapes onto DVD. The process requires DVD-R and DVD-RW formats only (other DVD formats will not work).
Use of this workstation is by appointment only with the Library Director. Students may borrow the necessary remote control and instructions from the Reserve Desk.

There are five dedicated online catalog workstations in the Library so that students and others may learn if a specific book or journal owned and/or otherwise available through the Sawyer Library.

There are five photocopiers in the Library. Pages are $.10 each. The copiers are owned and maintained by Allegra Print & Imaging - not the Library.

The Library has two digital microform (both "film" and "fiche") reader/printers. The microform image may be mainpulated and saved to a computer floppy disk.
