Elena Stone, Ph.D.

Elena Stone, PhD, is a writer, visual artist and independent scholar with a special interest in women and the creative process. As Artist-in Residence, she is working to give the center a consistent visual presence and develop programming that links art and creativity to women’s health and human rights. Elena has been on the staff of a major international development agency and has worked with a wide variety of organizations in the Boston area to develop programming on issues related to gender, diversity, the environment and community development.  The author of Rising from Deep Places: Women’s Lives and the Ecology of Voice and Silence (Peter Lang Publishers, 2001).
