Janet W. Fisher joined the Academic Support Program staff in 2004. She graduated cum laude from Suffolk University Law School where she was a staff member of the Suffolk University Law Review and authored two case comments. She received her B.A. in English cum laude from Fontbonne College.

Before joining Suffolk University Law School, Ms. Fisher was a tenured associate professor at Anna Maria College where she taught a variety of law-related courses as well as courses in critical thinking and writing and leadership. While at Anna Maria College, Ms. Fisher also served terms as division chair, associate dean for academic affairs and chair of the faculty assembly. She was a 2003 PACT (Partnership for Academic Programs in College Teaching) Fellow at the University of New Hampshire and has taught in the Certificate in College Teaching Program sponsored by The Colleges of the Worcester Consortium, Inc. Prior to joining Anna Maria College, Ms. Fisher practiced both civil and criminal law in Worcester, Massachusetts, during which time she argued before both the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Supreme Judicial Court. Ms. Fisher is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and in the federal District of Massachusetts.
