Suffolk University is committeed to incorporating sustainable principles into the design, construction, and operation of new buildings. Suffolk has set a goal of achieving Silver LEED certification. Suffolk’s first green building project was the 10 West Residence Hall, located in Downtown Crossing. Suffolk is currently awaiting LEED certification from the US Green Building Council. The rating is expected to be determined in the summer of 2008. It is expected that Suffolk will achieve what will be only the second Silver LEED certified dormitory in the City of Boston.
Suffolk is incorporating green building principles into The Modern Theatre and 20 Somerset.
