It is important for everyone to understand that the change in Daylight Savings Time in North America could affect all calendars during the extended DST period (March 11 and April 1, 2007). Meeting requests and appointments could be off by one hour regardless of the patch status of your computer.
For example: your calendar may indicate that you have a meeting at 2:00 PM on March 15th, when in fact the meeting is actually scheduled for 1:00 PM.
There is a patch that needs to be installed on your computer. After this patch is installed you may notice that meeting times are incorrect on your calendar during the extended DST period.
This is expected. Microsoft has provided a tool (TZMove.exe) to adjust Microsoft Office Outlook calendar items when there has been a change in time zone definitions or if the user is making a permanent move to another time zone.
If you have calendar entries in Outlook download the above tool and run against your Outlook calendar to adjust calendar items after the operating system has been updated with new time zone definitions. Instructions on installing the tool are available online.
To ensure an accurate time for a meeting is displayed, we recommend that you add the date, time and time zone to the subject line of each meeting that falls within the extended DST period.
