My teaching philosophy focuses on the personal growth of my students. I use direct guidance, group critiques, demonstrations and informal discussions to aid students in their search for a way of expressing themselves. I believe that every student possesses a unique point of view. My role is to support and guide students in creating work that is compelling, thoughtful and honest.

The following questions are employed in my classroom and are relevant to my studio practice. While they define my teaching philosophy, the questions are presented in no particular order.
- How can I inspire?
- How do we live with art and design?
- How are art & design important to our everyday lives?
- How can we contribute to the dialogue of art and design?
- How is the best learning environment created so that ideas flow uncensored?
- How does the individual empower the sense of community and vice versa?
