A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree program in biotechnology requires a concentration in molecular and microbiological principles in biology. Students are encouraged to seek relevant industrial experience during the summer between sophomore and junior year and to use the Biology Seminar as the reporting forum. Students should consult with the Program Coordinator early in their academic career to determine available placements and to obtain counseling regarding appropriate courses for the program.
The program requires the completion of all biology core requirements, with electives to be chosen from the following: BIO 262, 273; 377 (L377); 385 (L385); 403 (L403); 474 (L474); 475 (L475).
Upon satisfactory completion of the prescribed curriculum, students are eligible to receive the degree of Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts with a major in Biology from Suffolk University.
