Creative Writing Minor (for students not majoring in English)

Three courses are to be selected from the Creative Writing workshops offered by the department. One course is to be selected from the department’s upper-division literature courses (300 & 400 level), subject to the approval of the director of the Creative Writing Program.  A list of the literature courses which may count toward the minor will be available in the English Department office.  The student must also take English 213 and 214 or 216 or 217 or 218.

A student who wishes to minor in Creative Writing must confer with Professor Marchant, Director of the Creative Writing Program.

Creative Writing Track Within the English Major

The student must fulfill all requirements of the English major, plus three Creative Writing Workshops (with the approval of Dr. Marchant).  Three of the English courses for the major may be satisfied by the three Creative Writing Workshop courses (For example, one workshop may fulfill group two "Genre").
