FY10 Officers:

 

Dennis Walczewski, BS ’70. 

Currently President of the Board, Dennis is serving in his first term. He has volunteered frequently with the Career Services offices during job fairs and has spoken to students in the classroom by collaborating with the Chemistry Department. Dennis has also participated in the Pro’s, Prof’s, and Pastries series and as part of an alumni panel sharing experiences at Suffolk and in Boston in the 1960’s.  In 2008, he was honored with the Outstanding Alumni Award for Service. Dennis has applied his degree in chemistry throughout his career and currently is the CEO of MBL International, a leading healthcare/biotechnology manufacturer of research reagents and diagnostic kits. dennis.walczewski@alum.suffolk.edu

Laurie Cormier , BA ’03

Serving as a Vice President, Laurie has consistently served as Development Chair for the CAS Alumni Board driving 100% board participating in the annual fund. She has served as a representative of the University Alumni Council, and an Ambassador to the Department of Undergraduate Admissions. With more than 7 years at the Boston Harbor Island Alliance, a nonprofit supporting the Boston Harbor Islands national park area, Laurie was recently promoted to Director of Individual Giving.  ljackson@alum.suffolk.edu

Michael Walsh, Esq., BS ’84, JD,’87. 

Serving as Clerk, Mike is participating in his second term on the CAS Board and has been a member since 2003.  He formerly served on the Law School Alumni Board (2001-2003), was Vice President of the CAS Board 2007-2008 as well as a University Alumni Council Representative. He has volunteered on the Annual Race Committee and served on the Class of ’84 Reunion Committee. Mike is an adjunct professor in the Paralegal Studies  Program at Suffolk University and serves on the Paralegal Studies Advisory Committee.  He serves as Counsel to the MA Carpenters Union, and practices law in Westwood concentrating in Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury and Social Security Law. mwalsh@alum.suffolk.edu

Lori A. Atkins, Esq., BS ’01, JD ’04. 

Lori has served as a member of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Alumni Board for the past 4 years, Chair of the Admission Committee and as a University Alumni Council (UAC) Representative.  She held the role of President of the Board during 2008-2009. Lori works at Marcus, Errico, Emmer & Brooks, P.C, as an Attorney specializing in Real Estate Law.  She also serves as Adjunct Faculty member in the Government Department at Suffolk. atkins@alum.suffolk.edu


Allan Caggiano, BA ’99.

Graduated from the Boston College Law School in 2002 and is currently specializing in Real Estate Law as an Attorney at Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo, PC. This year, Allan recently served as Chair of the Class of ’99 Reunion Committee. acaggiano@alum.suffolk.edu

Alan M. Chapman, BS ’62. 

Presently in his first term on the Board, Alan is active in re-activating programming in the Central Massachusetts and Metro West areas by volunteering on the Chapters Committee. A former Editor of the Suffolk Journal, Alan has extensive professional background in marketing and public relations. He was Principal of a marketing/public relations consulting firm for more than 25 years. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Qunisagamond Community College in Worcester, MA. And is n the executive board and Treasurer of the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame at Massasoit Community College, Brockton, MA. achapman@alum.suffolk.edu


Cynthia R. Davis, BA ’98.

A member of the College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Board since 2005, Cynthia has served as Student Liaison Committee Chair.  She recently graduated from  Doctoral Candidate at the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development at Tufts University with research focus on resilient functioning across the lifespan, adolescence, and quantitative analysis. Cynthia also graduated from Harvard University Graduate School of Education with a Masters in Education. Cynthia is an Adjunct Professor for the Department of Psychology at Suffolk as well as participates in the Masters in Teaching Program at Brandeis University. crdavis@suffolk.edu


Anthony T. Dileso, BA ’62. 

In addition to earning his undergraduate degree at Suffolk, Tony holds an Ed.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Tony has a long-standing record as alumni volunteer at Suffolk through his membership on the CAS Alumni Board since 2004.  He was the Board President in FY08 as well as served as Vice-President of both the CAS and University Alumni Council. Tony’s professional accomplishments include his work as an Independent Educational Consultant, 41 years of service for the Boston Schools, Teacher, Department Head, Assistant Headmaster, Principal, retiring as Director of Adult Education also elected to five terms on the Watertown School Committee. adiieso@alum.suffolk.edu


Darren Donovan, BS ’83.

Darren is new to the Board and serving in his first term. He is an active alumni volunteer and supporter of the University.  Darren is also a volunteer and member of the New England Board of Advisors for the non-for-profit, The National Foundation for the Teaching Entrepreneurship which provides business education and support to young people from low income communities. In addition to his undergraduate degree from Suffolk, Darren earned his MBA from Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College in New York.  He is a principal in the Big Four accounting firm KPMG, LLP. Winn Gatewood, BA ’96. 

Winn is serving in her first term on the CAS Board. During 2008-2009, she acted as Clerk. Winn has also volunteered on the Annual Road Race committee. She is Active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, L Street Running Club and the Somerville Road Runners.  She currently holds an administrative position at EM4 Inc in Bedford, MA. mailto:MA.winngatewood@alum.suffolk.edu


Matthew Grondin, MSPS ’05.

Serving in his first term, Matt was recently elected as a University Alumni Council representative for the College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Board.  He also serves on the Government Alumni Advisory Committee and has volunteered in past programs such as the Government Career Panel and Third Thursday Networking events. He also participates in Mayor Thomas Menino’s Young Bostonians Advisory Council for the City of Boston. Matt currently works in Development at WGBH. matthew_grondin@alum.suffolk.edu

Elizabeth Hinds-Ferrick, BA ’86, MS ’90.

This is Elizabeth’s first year serving on the College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Board. She is employed at the Department of Transitional Assistance. elizabeth.ferrick@alum.suffolk.edu

Cheryl Larsen, MED ’77.

Presently serving as Chair of the Nominating Committee. Cheryl has held past roles as Vice President, Clerk, Member of Board of Visitors, and UAC Representative during her first and second terms. She has served on CAS Board of Directors since 2004 and was a University Advisory Council Board Member 2006-2007. Cheryl also holds degrees from Lesley University in the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study, Technology, and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Boston College. cheryl_larsen@alum.suffolk.edu


Dante Santone, D.C., BS ’88. 

Currently serves on Board of Alumni Directors.  Dante has served as past President of University Alumni Council and is a current representative. He is also active in supporting and volunteering through the Biology Department. Dante is instrumental during the summer programs at the Robert S. Friedman Station in Maine. drdante@alum.suffolk.edu

Annunziata (Nancy) Varela, BA ’94, MA ’96.  

A CAS Board member since 1998, Nancy is serving a second term.  Also holds position as President for the Communication & Journalism Alumni Association since 1996 and has volunteered in past road races.  Nancy has served as an adjunct faculty member of Communication and Journalism Department, a position she has held since 1996.  Her career includes work as the Public Relations Manager for BJ’s Wholesale Club, Inc. for more than 7 years. avarela@alum.suffolk.edu
