Welcome to the Medical Science Program

Suffolk University’s JRCERT accredited Medical Science program is a collaboration between the Suffolk University physics and biology departments and our world class clinical sites: Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Brigham and Woman’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This collaboration offers students the chance to obtain their clinical experience at some of the finest oncology facilities in the country. Better still, each facility is only a short walk or shuttle ride away from Suffolk.

The radiation biology major is designed for those whose interests are more inclined toward pursuing graduate studies in the health sciences and/or biology. The Clinical Radiation therapy is designed for those students wishing to become radiation therapists. Radiation therapy is the careful administration of highly focused forms of radiation to treat cancer an other rare diseases. Please note, the radiation therapy component requires application and acceptance into the "Clinical Track". Admission into the university does not automatically admit a student into the "Clinical Radiation".

Mission

To meet the educational needs of both entering freshmen and transfer students interested in pursuing a well-rounded baccalaureate degree or post baccalaureate certificate while acquiring the clinical skills necessary to function as entry-level therapists.

  • Provide a high quality education while promoting personal growth and the development of leadership and communication skills.
  • Provide a well-rounded curriculum that enhances the development of problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Graduate students with the appropriate entry level employment skills.
