Check-in is for all families attending Family Weekend. You will receive materials about the weekend’s events, pick-up all tickets including Fall Fest ’08 tickets, and get information about happenings around town.  

Fall Fest ’08 – Back to the 80’s!

Friday Evening Show (8pm) Free 
Suffolk’s annual variety show, Fall Fest kicks off Family Weekend with welcoming remarks from Suffolk University President, David J. Sargent.  Students, faculty and staff share the stage to celebrate Suffolk spirit in this exciting musical extravaganza.  Gala reception to follow (Friday night only).  Please arrive promptly to secure your seats at this popular event.  (Free tickets do not guarantee seating.)

Boston Duck Tours (9:45am) $20/person

Meet at the Gould Shaw Memorial, across from the State House on Beacon Street.
Take a famous Boston Duck Tour through the city on an authentic, renovated World War II amphibious landing vehicle. As the best of Boston unfolds before your eyes, one of the legendary ConDUCKtors will be giving you lots of little known facts and interesting insights about this unique and wonderful city. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, it’s time for "Splashdown" as your ConDUCKtor splashes your DUCK right into the Charles River for a breathtaking view of the Boston and Cambridge skylines, the kind of view you just won’t get anywhere else. Boston Area Walking Tours

Meet at the Donahue Cafeteria, basement of the Donahue Building

Join members of the Suffolk University History Department and the Suffolk University History Society as they lead you through historic Boston with its cobblestone streets and colonial-era neighborhoods. These tours are free with limited space. Please register early.

Library Tour (10am), Free

Mildred F. Sawyer Library
73 Tremont Street (enter from Tremont Place) Explore our newly renovated Mildred F. Sawyer Library, now located at 73 Tremont Street. The new library opened May 15, 2006. Focusing on the student, the new space doubles the size of the former library, and features a variety of study and reading areas. Most of the seats are located next to the space’s many windows with views of Tremont Street, Beacon Street and the historic Granary Burial Ground.  Other highlights include increased technology throughout the library and the beautiful Poetry Center. Come see for yourself!

Taste of Boston (12:30pm) $10/person

Enjoy delicious samplings from a variety of restaurants in the greater Boston area. (note that this is not a full lunch)

Please join the Residence Life and Summer Programs staff for a dessert reception following the Taste of Boston.  Enjoy rich desserts and other goodies while having an opportunity to interact with some Suffolk staff.

Suffolk Night at the Museum of Science

7:00– 9:00 pm
Celebrate the spirit of Suffolk and enjoy a private party for Suffolk students and their guests in the Blue Wing of the Museum of Science!  This event includes dinner, parking and access to many of the exhibits at the Museum of Science.  Space is limited. Please register early. $30 per person.
