To bring and NOT to bring

To Bring or Not To Bring...

Here is a list of suggested items you may want to bring with you when you move into the residence hall. We strongly encourage you to speak with your roommate(s) about what each of you will or will not bring.

Things to Bring
Towels, sheets, blanket, pillow
Personal toiletries, Shower shoes
Desk lamp, Clock radio
Mattress Pad/Cover
Stereo, TV, VCR, etc.
Stationary items (pens, pencils, etc.)
Flashlight, Wastebasket
Power strip, Coaxial cable for television
Laundry Supplies, Cleaning Supplies, Hangers
“Long-Mask Masking Tape” (or painter’s tape– does not remove the paint!!!)
Refrigerator (no longer than 4.0 cubic feet) , Small microwave, “Microfridges”
Cups, plates, silverware, etc.
Computer, printer, etc.
Telephone
White board and dry erase markers
Automatic shut-off iron
Please note this list of items that are not permitted in the residence hall. Please do not bring them with you.

Things NOT to Bring
Coffee pots/makers, electric heaters, or any cooking appliance
Candles, incense
Pets (including fish)
Alcohol (including “decorative” containers)
Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia
Halogen lamps (including desk lamps)
Firearms, including mace and pepper spray
Car. Suffolk University students are not permitted to have cars.
