Welcome to the website for Orientation & New Student Programs at Suffolk University!
Our office coordinates various orientation programs that are available for our different student populations, and for different periods when students enter Suffolk University. Through collaborative efforts between the College of Arts and Sciences, Sawyer Business School, the Division of Student Affairs and many other departments across campus, New Student Orientation provides programs that are conducive to the academic and social success of the newest members of our Suffolk community. Orientation is a required program that all new undergraduate students must attend before course registration, and dates are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Orientation is optional for new graduate students.
We also oversee the adminstration of the SU101 course, a one credit class that is designed to enhance the first year experience and to ensure a successful transition to Suffolk University and our unique urban community.
We sponsor Welcome Programs (such as the Freshmen Social and Welcome Barbecue), and Family Weekend in October.
We also work collaboratively to bring special events and opporunities to sophomores because we realize that a student’s transition to Suffolk does not necessarily end after their first year.
As you can see, we are busy year-round providing programs and services to welcome and acclimate students to the Suffolk community. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information about any of these offerings.
