This specialized MBA/GDPA degree will prepare you to earn professional qualification for either the CPA or the CMA exam. With this MBA and professional designation, you can move into a position of leadership in public accounting, industry and commerce, not-for-profit organizations, or government agencies.
Within the MBA/GDPA, you may focus on public accounting, corporate controllership, or not-for-profit controllership. Suffolk University graduates have the highest pass rate for the CPA in Massachusetts.
The MBA/GDPA degree includes six credits (two courses) beyond the MBA. The specialization occurs in the designation of the electives.
Some of the specialized accounting courses are also offered online. Most of the specialized accounting courses must be taken in Boston.
Three (9 credits) electives are additional advanced accounting courses, chosen in collaboration with an advisor.
Two (6 credits) electives must be selected from MBA electives and can not be from Accounting or Tax. They may be selected from business law and ethics, entrepreneurship, finance and managerial economics, health administration, information systems, international business, marketing, organizational behavior, public administration, and strategic management.
