Once thought of as pure deskbound drudgery, the field of accounting has become a much more dynamic and diverse career.
In the 20 plus years since Mr. Newgarden of Arthur Young & Co. gave the above quote to the Wall St. Journal, accountants have cast aside that image and become integral parts in today’s business engine.
Today’s accounting profession demands a wide range of skills and updated knowledge. Accountants can practice auditing, financial planning, tax compliance, and financial analysis in businesses, not-for-profit organizations and in government agencies. The Sawyer Business School prepares students to excel as accountants in any of a number of these challenging fields.
