In 2003, Mrs. Schniewind joined Suffolk University, where she is responsible for corporate outreach.   As Director of Corporate Learning Initiatives, she works with the Institute for Executive Education and the leadership and faculty of all three Suffolk schools, helping them design and deliver custom learning programs for corporate clients.  The programs introduce managers from the public and private sector to Suffolk courses and faculty, and provide them with practical knowledge which can be applied immediately to their current work.  She has also helped launch several University-wide projects:  two Academic Conferences; the Healthcare and Biotech Task Forces; and three public Centennial Forums.

Mrs. Schniewind gained her management experience in the fields of health care, politics and investments.  In 1981, she formed PRN Inc. where she served over 40 companies as a project leader, consultant, trainer, mentor and coach, providing leadership development, executive and management coaching, executive and cross-functional team development, change leadership, and business process redesign.

Her work in leadership development began with the Forum Corp. spending four years working with several hundred top executives of General Motors.  Other large scale projects she designed, managed and delivered over the last decade include a 5-day Advanced Management Program for high potential leaders of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, and a bank-wide Managing Service Excellence program, required for all managers at Bank of New England.  At Bank Boston, she worked for four years with the Customer Focus Advisory department, and then as a coach in the Advanced Leadership Program, which provided team action learning and individual coaching to over 200 high potential managers of the bank.  Major clients in business process redesign include Delta Dental Plan, Cigna Insurance, and the Boston Medical Center.   For the last ten years, she has been coaching CEOs and their executive teams, specializing in the development and retention of senior women leaders in the United States and South Africa.

Internationally, Mrs. Schniewind has consulted to the World Bank, the Agency for International Development, and the UNDP on the uses of computer-based technologies for education and training.  Since 1997, she has been consulting in South Africa, in partnership with the Businesswomen’s Association of South Africa, (http://www.bwasa.co.za/), Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and currently with Massachusetts General Hospital and the Suffolk University Healthcare Administration programs.
