London, England: Financial Markets

Sring 2009 Semester - MGIB 850 AE

Travel Component: Spring Break, March 14-21, 2009

Spend six nights in London investigating the world’s largest volume financial market. Topics include global equities, fixed income securities, European equities, credit, and fixed income, global emerging markets, retail banking products and foreign exchange market and transactions.

This course will include visits to brokerage houses; investment, corporate and retail banks; asset and wealth managers; private bankers; hedge funds; financial boutiques and specialized finance. Expert lectures on the theory of financial markets will also be provided by London finance academics.

A sound foundation in finance is recommended for this course.

Academic Component

Course Syllabus will be available in the beginning of the Spring semester.
 
Class Sessions: All class sessions are mandatory
3 class sessions before travel (Date TBA)
1 class session after travel (Date TBA)

All Boston based class sessions are normally held on Friday evenings from 4:30-7:10 pm

Costs

Tuition for 3 credits plus a $1,950 seminar fee

Seminar Fee Includes

  • Accommodations (3-4 star hotel, based on double occupancy)

  • An evening at the theater
  • All business programming (7 corporate visits)
  • Many meals including,  welcome reception, farewell dinner
