The Provost is the senior academic and administrative officer of the University, overseeing academic programs, research, personnel, resources, and support services. The University academic and administrative vice presidents report to the Provost who, in turn, is under the direction of the President of the University and the Board of Trustees.

The Provost is responsible for encouraging and supervising growth and orderly operation of the University, including collaboration across the University and initiation of constructive policies and practices that benefit the academic life of the University as a whole.
