Student Eligibility
Open to Liberal Arts graduate/undergraduate students from Suffolk University, as well as eligible students from other colleges and universities.
Course description
Students will participate in the 2nd Peace Island School, Jeju National University. Scholars from Europe, the United States, Japan, Australia, Korea, and Taiwan will debate and present on a wide range of topics, including international peace movements, global peace governance and the environment. Suffolk faculty in attendance will include Dr. John C. Berg, Dr. Simone B. Chun, and Dr. Martha Richmond. Students will have the opportunity to interact with students and scholars representing Asia, Europe and the U.S, and will be invited to participate in the Young Professional Session for Peace. Korean language proficiency is not required, but the course curriculum will include intensive preparation in basic Korean, as well as background readings in Korean culture, society, and government.
